If the past two weeks have been any indication, we're in for a few more weeks of rain. Keeping that in mind, here's what's going to be hot this season.
Bolt of blue
Blue was the hottest colour this Eid, and the trend is still going strong. From the faded denim of chambray to the classic Monaco blue, we're seeing a lot of these cool shades, but by far the most popular shade has been a bright cobalt blue.
A little ankle
Whether you like your pants wide-legged or skinny, navigating the streets of Dhaka in ankle-deep water is a little less distressing when your shalwar ends above your ankle. That's right palazzos have gone up to the gaucho-pant level, and linen capris are becoming a fast favourite alternative to the straight shalwar, even when paired with kurtis and kameezes. Invest in a few calf-length pieces for a mess-free August.
Just can't get enough
Hands down, our favourite garment this whole Summer/Monsoon has been the drapey tie-front cotton pants. Whether you're getting the ice-cream shaded joggers from Urban Truth, or investing in some bold prints in Artisan's range of slouchy pants, or going gamcha with Jatra, these babies are comfy, versatile, and oh so cool. Who needs the wet-dog smell of damp denim when you can strut your stuff in flirty, flowy cotton?
