Interbrand reports list of 100 most valuable brands

According to a report from brand consultancy Interbrand, Apple Inc, Google, and Coca- Cola Co. have topped the list of the world’s 100 most valuable brands in 2016. Interbrand has been producing this report for the past 17 years. The ranking of the companies is based on 3 prime components The financial performance of the products and services offerings The ability of the brand to influence customer choice The strength of the brand has to command a premium price and secure earnings for the company Technology and automotive brands dominated the overall rankings with 29 of 100 rankings in the annual list. Brands like- Microsoft Corp., Toyota Motor Corp., IBM Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Amazon.com Inc., Mercedes-Benz and General Electric Co.were also on the Top 10 list. Tesla has also made its name into the Top 100. This is the fourth year in a row that Google and Apple led the list of 100. Apple has managed to increase its brand value by 5% from last year to $178 billion. Google’s brand value rose by 11% to reach $133 billion. According to the report, the top 5 growing brands include Facebook Inc (+48%), e-commerce giant Amazon (+33%), toy company Lego (25%), automobile manufacturer Nissan (22%), and software company Adobe (21%).
