Jon and Josh Silberman are writing a new film titled Coyote vs Acme which will feature Roadrunner’s nemesis Wile E Coyote as the lead for a Warner Bros film.
Roadrunner will be out of the big picture for this movie. The producers Chris McKay, who directed The Lego Batman Movie earlier, see great potential in the Wile E Coyote character, reports Deadline.
According to Comingsoon.net, the film will feature Wile E Coyote stepping aside from his lifelong pursuit of the Roadrunner to get his revenge on Acme. Within the various Wile E Coyote and Roadrunner shorts, the Coyote’s gadgets always came from Acme. Inevitably, the gadgets have always failed, leaving the Coyote humiliated and injured. Now, it’s time for some payback.
Following 1996's Space Jam and 2003's Looney Tunes: Back in Action, his would be the third theatrical Looney Tunes film.
No release date for Coyote vs Acme has been announced yet.
