Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has been announced the richest man in the modern history by Bloomberg Billionaire index, a daily tracker of the world's richest people.
His wealth exceeded $150 billion, the highest ever owned by anyone in history. Jeff pushed down Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates at the second position.
Jeff achieved the milestone when Amazon launched its "Prime Day" event, offering discounts to attract more customers to its platform.
He founded Amazon in late 1994 while he was on a cross-country road trip. The company began as an online bookstore and has expanded to a variety of products and services, including video and audio streaming.
The successful entrepreneur launched his own aerospace company Blue Origin back in 2000.
