During the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, Agence France-Presse photographer Yuri Cortez found himself at the bottom of a pile of Croatian footballers after their winning goal against England.
He became a part of the glorious moment of Croatia as they make their way to the World Cup final for the first time.
When Mario Mandžukić scored the winning goal during extra-time, the Croatian footballers accidentally crashed the photographer area where Yuri was stationed. In the historic moment more and more footballers piled on Yuri and continued celebrating.
However, in few moments the footballers realized that Yuri was at the bottom, and once the photographer was rescued from the pile of Croatian footballers, defender Domagoj Vida kissed on his forehead before running back onto the pitch.

Surprisingly, Cortez didn’t forget about his job, and he continued to take some of the most candid photographs seen at the tournament in Russia.
Croatia will face France in the World Cup final on Sunday.
