Famous Bangladeshi band, Chirkutt, rocked expatriates and London’s Bangla music lovers in Weaver Fields, Tower Hamlets. The concert was organized as a segment of Boishakhi Mela 1425 by Tower Hamlets Council on July 1, 2018 and also featured Ashik and the duo Naz & Bolly Flex.
Chirkutt left for the concert on June 28, and attended two of its promotional events. The first was an interview with BBC Asian Network on the 29th, and the second was a live announcement for Channel S on the June 30.
As for the concert itself, the big Bangladeshi crowd surprised the band enough to make them post this on their Facebook page, “What a big crowd London!! Bangladeshis everywhere just rocks!”
They also thanked the Tower Hamlets Council for organizing the event and the crowd. They said, “We met Bangladesh in a new way in London today. In the new Bangla year celebration. We were overwhelmed by love from both known and newly acquainted faces. Respect and love for all.”
Chrikutt got on stage and began sound check at 6pm, on an unusually warm day for London. The event concluded with their performance at 7pm.
