Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan and Shobnom Yesmin Bubly will star in Shapla Media’s upcoming film “Ekti Prem Dorkar Manoniyo Sorkar.”
The announcement was made by Selim Khan, owner of Shapla Media, at a launch event for the film at Hotel Westin in Dhaka on Tuesday.
He also said the film will be directed by Shahin Sumon, and newcomer Mridula will star alongside Shakib and Bubly.
At the event, Shakib Khan said: “Many people have asked me ‘what sort of name is this for a film?’ But I loved the name when I first heard it, and love is necessary to save Bangladesh’s film industry.”
He also said the government needs to show love for new filmmakers who are making great films.
Meanwhile, Shakib Khan’s films “Super Hero”, “Chitagainga Poya, Noakhailla Maiya” and “Panku Jamai” are simultaneously being screened at over 250 theatres across the country.
“Super Hero” and “Chitagainga Poya, Noakhailla Maiya” features Shakib and Bubly in the lead roles, whereas “Panku Jamai” stars Shakib and his ex-wife, popular Dhallywood actor Apu Biswas.
Moreover, “Bhaijaan Elo Re,” the fourth collaboration between Indian director Joydeep Mukherjee and Shakib, has hit theatres in India and is scheduled for release in Bangladesh soon.
