Kahini chitra on Bangabandhu murder premieres at Shilpakala

The 4th and 5th editions of the ongoing kahini chitra series, based on Sahid Rahman’s story “Mohamanober Deshe” depicting the vicious murder of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and its aftermath, have been premiered at the Chitrashala Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday.

The two kahini chitras are titled “Shedin Sraboner Megh Chilo” and “Janak 1975.”

Anisul Huq, minister of of law, justice and parliamentary affairs was the chief guest at the event. Sahid Rahman, the writer and Razibul Islam Razib and Azad Kalam, directors of the two kahini chitra and other actors and technicians of the productions were also present at the event.

The event was presided over by Sultana Kamal, Bangladeshi lawyer, human rights activist and Former adviser of the previous caretaker government of Bangladesh.

“Shedin Sraboner Megh Chilo,” starring Azad Abul Kalam, Rawnak Hasan, Heme and Mizanur Rahman, depicts a story of a protest at Noakhali after the murder of Bangabandhu. A young freedom fighter of Noakhali leaves to protest on his wedding day neglecting the military curfew and never comes back.

“Janak 1975,” is another rare story of resistance after Bangabdhu’s death in the Garo community at Mymensingh and Netrokona regions. The Garo people who protested the murder of Bangabandhu were brutally tortured by the military. This kahini chitra features Tariq Anam Khan, Tamalika Karmaker, Arman Parvez Murad, Nafa and more.
