Gordon Greenidge: Cricket becoming batters' game

The former coach of the Bangladesh cricket team Sir Gordon Greenidge commented that cricket is becoming more and more about the batters.

He spoke in the session titled “Eye on the Ball” on the fourth and last day of Dhaka Lit Fest on Sunday.

He said in this regard: “We should establish equality between bowlers and batsmen.”

The book titled “Eye on the Ball” by Yousuf Rezaur Rahman, more commonly known as Yusuf Babu, the legendary batsman of Bangladesh in the seventies and eighties, was unveiled on Saturday. The session is named after the book itself.

The legendary Sir Gordon Greenidge was the head coach of the ICC Champions Trophy winning Bangladesh team in 1997. He represented the West Indies in Test and ODI for 17 years and is regarded worldwide as one of the greatest and most destructive opening batsmen in cricket history.
