The 10th anniversary celebration of Dhaka Lit Fest at Bangla Academy hosted an esteemed panel at the Cosmic Tent on its first day. With editor Rifat Munim, writer and translator Aruna Chakravarti, and writer and translator Fakrul Alam, led by Alam Khorshed, the panelists discussed the anthology titled At 50: A Literary Journey. Launched on the same day, the anthology comprises two books covering two particular domains of literature: Fictional stories and poetry translated in English.
The anthology aims to celebrate fifty years of Bangladesh. According to the editor Rifat Munim: “Bangladeshi Literature is perceived to be way too realistic and not very experimental.” This book is his way of exposing the world to Bangladeshi literature that is more imaginative and experimental.
While introducing the anthology, Alam Khorshed highlighted the fact that the authors of the 50 poems were all women.
