Dhaka Lit Fest Director Ahsan Akbar said that this year the event is going to be extremely glorious as Abdulrazak Gurnah is coming here for the first time in an international event since winning the Nobel Prize in Literature.
He said this in a meeting organized by Bangla Tribune and Dhaka Lit Fest authorities on Tuesday evening.
Ahsan added: “Renowned writer Amitav Ghosh, whose writing includes Bangladesh and Bangabandu, is coming. Nuruddin Farah, someone as capable as a Nobel Prize winning author, will be present as well. Many good writers, including the ones who had come before, would be present.”
He said that earlier people did not understand what Lit Fest was. However, now everyone knows and are curious for upcoming Lit Fests.
Two other directors of Dhaka Lit Fest, Sadaf Saaz and Dr Kazi Anis Ahmed, participated in the meeting moderated by Munni Saha. The meeting is being broadcast live by the private television channel ATN News. Besides, the event is live on Facebook homepage of Bangla Tribune.
