Nobel laureate Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk will attend the 10th edition of Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF) to be held in January.
It would be a great opportunity for the people of Bangladesh to become acquainted with the writer, Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan said at a program at a Dhaka hotel arranged by Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) on Wednesday.
Orhan Pamuk's speech at the event would be a major topic of discussion, he added.
After being cancelled for three consecutive years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 10th edition of Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF), the biggest international literary festival in Bangladesh, is set to take place from January 5-8 next year.
The event will be held on the historic grounds of the Bangla Academy in Dhaka.
Dhaka Lit Fest has been a popular annual event in the winter calendar of Bangladesh.
About 30,000 people participated in the ninth Dhaka Lit Fest, held in 2019.
Orhan Pamuk, a Turkish novelist, screenwriter and academic, received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2006.
