Second day of Dhaka Lit Fest underway

Book lovers from across Bangladesh started gathering on the Bangla Academy premises braving the cold on Friday morning as the second day of the Dhaka Lit Fest went underway.

The day's programs kicked off with spiritual songs by Sardar Afsar Uddin.

There will be several sessions from 10am to 11am – DLF Innovation Talk (Senjuti Saha and Zunaid Ahmed Palak), Pass It To Rizwana (Zaya Chakma, Nishat Mazumder, Ashreen Mridha, Crystal Pottenbaum and Salzar Rahman), Tilmund's Travel Tales (Samai Haider), I am Bokul (Asma Ul Husna Sanchita), and Future Narrative (Syed Manzoorul Islam and Imdadul Haq Milan with Swakrito Noman).

From 11:15am to 12:15pm the event will have the Hungry Tide (Amitav Ghosh with Sadaf Saaz), Sufism: Influence on Persian and Bengali Literature (Shakir Sabur, Suraiya Farzana Hasan, Shamim Ahmed, Anwarul Karim, Mostak Ahmad Deen and Muhammad Zamir with Benzene Khan), Journalism under Pressure (Zulfiqer Russell and Mustafiz Shafi with Tanim Ahmed Shyamol Dutta, Tasmima Hossain and Mohsin Habib), Kathal (Amit Ashraf with Shams Jaber), South and East Asian Literature: Studies in Bengali (Goutam Guha Roy, Kabir Humayun and Zakir Zafran with Shahed Kayes Shanta Maria, Kaji Shahjahan), and Goofi Puppet Show.

From 12:30pm to 1:30pm – The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida (Shehan Karunatilaka with Barbara Epler), Kazi Nazrul Islam (Nashid Kamal, Rachel McDermott and Winston E Langley with Manmay Zafar), We Are the Champions (Bangladesh women's national football team's Sabina Khatun, Maria Manda, Ritu Porna Chakma, Rupna Chakma, Akhi Khatun and Sri Moti Krishna Rani Sarkar as well as Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, Golam Rabbani Choton, Mahmuda Akter with Saveem Shama), screening of “Bangla Surf Girls” (Elizabeth D Costa), In Marie Curie's Footsteps (Sarah Gilbert, Haseena Khan and Yasmeen Haque with Senjuti Saha), puppet show “Lichu Chor” (Presented by Multimedia Puppet, directed by Mustafa Monwar), Being Gandhi (Paro Anand).
