Peninsula Chittagong declares 10% dividend

Peninsula Chittagong Limited has recommended a 10% cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021. 

In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk0.41 and net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk30.28 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, as against Tk0.05 and Tk30.87 respectively for the same period of the previous year. 

The company also informed that the core business of the company was also interrupted due to Covid-19 during this year. 

However, the company’s management took some improvised steps to reduce avoidable costs. As a result, costs of sales and administrative expenses decreased by 24.80% and 29.14% respectively compared to the previous year. 

The annual general meeting (AGM), where the dividend will be approved, is scheduled to take place online on December 13. 

During Tuesday’s trade, the closing price for each of Peninsula Chittagong’s shares was Tk29.7.
