Muhith: I’ll lower taxes if you pay VAT

Minister Muhith noted that it would be very reasonable for businesses to pay VAT. Finance Minister AMA Muhith discussed taxation at the launching ceremony of the Tax Guide on Thursday at the secretariat. Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Investment Vice-President K Atique-E-Rabbani attended the ceremony with Osman Gani and Al-Haj Md Alauddin Malik. Earlier in the afternoon at the Dhaka Westin, Minister Muhith said: “It is an achievement for us that the poverty rate has been lowered to 22℅ from 70 ℅ in the past 40 years. “Our development now only moves forward,” he remarked at the Impact Investment Summit held on Thursday. The Impact Investment Summit was initiated by Build Bangladesh and organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum.
