Microsoft, Quantum Foundation to get tax relief

Finance Minster AMA Muhith in his closing speech of the proposed budget on Wednesday suggested that taxes or duties on several products and services be either cut or withdrawn. The orgaisations, products and industries which the minister has raised the proposal for are Microsoft Bangladesh Limited, Quantum Foundation, Japanese embassy in Dhaka, Nitol-Niloy Group, LPG containers, computer and cell phone parts manufacturers, motorbikes and their spare parts, refrigerators and solar panels among others. Muhith said they considered the products and services after receiving proposals from different quarters. “Most of the products or services were finalised upon the prime minister's instruction and suggestion for tax or duty cut and withdrawal,” he said.
