Bangladesh is expected to sign a preferential trade agreement (PTA) with Bhutan soon in order to boost trade and commerce between the two countries.
The issue was discussed on Monday when newly-appointed Bhutanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Rinchen Kuentsyl met with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam.
At the meeting, emphasis was placed on increasing trade between the two South Asian neighbors, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Besides, the issues related to enhancement of cooperation in education, health and ICT sectors.
The Bhutanese envoy expressed interest as the state minister raised the issue in relation to the establishment of vegetable processing plant with the cooperation from Bhutan.
