Tk6.68bn export subsidy released

The government has released a record amount of cash incentive worth Tk6.68bn against export of selected items for the first quarter of 2013-14 fiscal, sources said.   The exporters will receive cash subsidy on the products against net repatriation of the export proceeds from July 1 to September 30, according to an official announcement on Thursday.   Earlier, the government announced a list of 14 exportable products eligible for the cash subsidy in the current fiscal year.   “The rate of cash subsidy is almost same this fiscal year compared to the previous one,” said a senior official of the finance division, adding that the government cut down the cash subsidy for frozen shrimp to 7.50% in FY14 from 10% of the previous fiscal.   Liquid glucose exported from Ishwardi EPZ has been excluded from the list of products eligible for the cash incentives.
