A new e-commerce platform, Alesha Mart, began its journey on Friday to capitalise on the country’s growing online shopping industry.
The newest entrant to the e-commerce market also aims to deliver medicines, offer discounts and membership package, enable payment through mobile financial services and facilitate buying grocery products on credit.
Alesha Mart, a sister concern of Alesha Holdings, promises 24-7 delivery service for its products across the country, one of its several customised services to meet consumers’ needs.
It also would create working scope for the freelancers and it will be a platform for small entrepreneurs to export local products, its officials said.
"It is my immense pleasure to introduce Alesha Mart to meet the growing demand of trusted and quality e-commerce service providers in Bangladesh which will truly add value to customers’ daily life,” said Md Monzur Alam Sikder, chairman of Alesha Mart.
The new generation e-commerce platform also pledged to provide especially services for their customers beyond products.
“With the traditional products sales, we will offer some new services such as discounts under membership package,” said Mohammad Tariq Aziz, branding and marketing manager of Alesha Mart.
“To honour senior citizens, we will offer special packages including home delivery based on their needs, health check up facilities and many more,” said Aziz.
“We will connect global consumers through the platform and it would take Bangladeshi products global,” he added.
“The e-commerce industry of Bangladesh is growing day by day. I hope Alesha Mart will meet the desired demand of online shoppers,” said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, who attended the launch event as the chief guest.
