To expand financial inclusion by delivering modern, secure and Shariah-compliant banking services to the doorsteps of underserved communities, Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC organized an Agent Banking Views Exchange Meeting and Courtyard Meeting with the participation of owners of 82 agent outlets, managers of 10 link branches, outlet managers and selected customers from Barisal region.
The program, held on July 23, was attended by deputy managing director and head of the bank's agent banking & digital banking wing Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan as chief guest.
Vice president and manager of Mathbaria branch Md Enayet Fakir and senior assistant vice president of the agent banking division Md Ishtiaq Hasan attended as special guests.
The meeting was presided over by manager of Barishal branch Muhammad Abdus Shukur.
During the daylong program, agent outlet owners, branch managers, outlet managers and selected customers shared their experiences and discussed various operational challenges, possible solutions, strategies for deposit growth and ways to ensure modern, secure and cashless banking services through the bank's digital channels, including Digital Danbox, Bangla QR, Islamic Wallet, Internet Banking, IlmNet – Education Management System, and the Digital Payment Collection Module.
Speaking on the occasion, Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan said that Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC is further strengthening its Agent Banking operations to deliver modern and Shariah-compliant banking services to the doorsteps of underserved communities across the country.
He urged agent outlet owners, branch managers and outlet managers to work in close coordination to accelerate deposit mobilization, enhance customer service and strengthen financial inclusion initiatives.
He also advised customers to complete transactions using fingerprint authentication at agent outlets, collect the system-generated transaction receipt and verify the SMS confirmation after each transaction.
He further encouraged customers to adopt the Bank's digital channels, including Bangla QR, Digital Danbox, Islamic Wallet, Internet Banking and IlmNet, to enjoy convenient and secure cashless banking services.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their commitment to working together to further strengthen the bank's agent banking operations, expand access to modern and Shariah-compliant banking services for underserved communities, and support Bangladesh Bank's initiatives for greater financial inclusion and the expansion of cashless transactions.
