The 7th death anniversary of Md Habibur Rahman, former managing director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, a highly respected banker in the financial sector of Bangladesh, will be observed on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
He passed away on this day in 2019 at a hospital in Dhaka while undergoing treatment at the age of 65.

Md Habibur Rahman served as managing director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC from July 2013 to September 2018.
Prior to this, he held the position of deputy managing director at Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.
He commenced his banking career in 1978 as a probationary officer at Sonali Bank and went on to serve the banking industry for over 41 years in various key leadership roles.
Born on January 1, 1954 in Barisal, he was widely recognized for his professionalism, dedication, and long-standing contribution to the banking sector of the country.
