Pubali Bank PLC honoured its principal officer and mountaineer Nurunnahar Nimni for bringing glory to Bangladesh by conquering Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world.
Pubali Bank PLC sponsored both her Himlung Himal Expedition and Everest Expedition in Nepal.
The reception program titled “Honouring the Summit Conqueror” was held at the bank’s head office.
Mohammad Ali, managing director and chief executive officer of Pubali Bank PLC, attended the program as chief guest.
Among those present on the occasion were deputy managing directors of the head office Mohammad Esha, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Ahmed Enayet Monzur, Md Shahnewaz Khan and Mohammad Anisuzzaman.
Sultana Sharifun Nahar, deputy managing director and head of principal branch, along with the bank’s executives and senior female officials, were also present.
During the program, managing director and chief executive officer presented Nurunnahar Nimni with a commemorative crest and a letter of appreciation. A documentary highlighting her mountaineering journey was also screened.
Nurunnahar Nimni reached the summit of Mount Everest at 5:24 a.m. (Nepal time) on May 27, 2026.
Fourteen years after the last successful ascent by a Bangladeshi woman, she brought a new chapter of glory to the nation through this remarkable achievement.
