Forty four banks have signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank to disburse Tk15,000 crore in loans as part of refinancing facilities to support implementation of the stimulus package for the large industry and service sector.
Fourteen banks signed the deal on Monday and the rest of the banks signed the deal on Tuesday with the central bank, a high official of the central bank said.
Apart from this, 23 Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) will sign the participation agreement on Wednesday, he added.
The signing ceremony was held at the Bangladesh Bank conference room.
Bangladesh Bank’s Off-site Supervision Department General Manager Shahidul Islam and the Managing Director of the respective banks signed the agreement on behalf of their organizations.
The banks are- Sonali Bank, Rupali Bank, Agrani Bank, Dhaka Bank, Mercantile Bank, Trust Bank, Southeast Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, One Bank, South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce (SBAC) Bank, NRB Commercial Bank, NRB Global Bank, Union Bank, the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Dutch-Bangla Bank, Prime bank, Mutual Trust Bank, The City Bank, Bangladesh Krishi Bank and Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank among others.
