Banks to resume operation from Sunday after Eid

Banks and financial institutions will resume their services today, after five days of Eid vacation including two weekly holidays.

Banks and financial institutions will resume their regular working hours from 10:00am-6:00pm, as it was reduced to 9:30am-4:00pm during Ramadan. 

DSE will also resume its regular working hours from 10:30am-2:30pm after nine days of Eid holidays, which was set to 10:00am-2:00pm in Ramadan.

Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated across the country on Wednesday (June 5). 

The official Eid holidays for banks were from June 4 to June 6, while officials of government and private offices and stock market got an opportunity to enjoy their vacation from May 31 to June 8.

The city streets were seen almost empty with low traffic, as most city dwellers left Dhaka to celebrate Eid.

Most government and private job holders returned to the city yesterday. 

Kamalapur Railway Station, Sadarghat Launch Terminal and Sayedabad, Gabtoli and Mohakhali bus terminals were seen crowded with passengers returning home.
