National Mourning Day observed at EPZs

All export processing zones across the country on Tuesday observed the National Mourning Day marking the 42th anniversary of martyrdom of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975. To mark the day, Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) organised a discussion meeting, documentary film show and Doa Mahfil at its office in the capital, said a press release issued on Tuesday. The national flag was kept half-mast in honour of the great architect of independence and his family members who embraced martyrdom on the very day. At the programme, life and political activities of the Father of the Nation were discussed in details while a documentary was screened. BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Zillur Rahman, ndc, member (Investment Promotion), Md Mosaddeque Ali, member (Engineering), Md Mizanur Rahman, member (Finance), Md Nabirul Islam, secretary, and general managers of each department including all levels of officers and employees attended the event. Simultaneously, eight other Export Processing Zones – Chittagong, Dhaka, Comilla, Ishwardi, Mongla, Uttara, Adamjee and Karnaphuli EPZs under BEPZA observed the National Mourning Day programmes in a befitting manner.
