Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has set a remarkable precedent in the country's capital market by disbursing an approved 180% cash dividend to its institutional and general investors just one day after holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for FY26.
According to Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy managing director and company secretary of Walton, the company’s 20th AGM was conducted via a digital platform on Thursday, October 15, with the participation of institutional investors and a large number of general shareholders.
At the meeting, shareholders unanimously approved the board of directors’ recommended 180% cash dividend and 10% stock dividend for FY26.
The company secretary highlighted that Walton was able to complete the cash dividend distribution in such a short timeframe due to its continuous technological excellence, institutional efficiency, operational dynamism, and robust liquidity position—setting a benchmark for efficiency in Bangladesh’s stock market.
Under the approved payout for FY26, shareholders received a cash dividend of Tk18 for each ordinary share with a face value of Tk10.
Additionally, investors will receive one (01) bonus share for every 10 ordinary shares held.
According to the company’s audited financial statements approved by the shareholders, Walton reported a net profit of Tk1,124.57 crore for FY26, up from Tk1,036.62 crore in the previous financial year.
EPS rose to Tk33.75, compared to Tk31.11 in the prior year.
Walton’s total Net Asset Value (with revaluation) reached nearly Tk12,704 crore. NAV per share with revaluation stood at Tk381.26, while NAV per share without revaluation increased to Tk280.24.
The approved 10% stock dividend will be funded entirely from retained earnings.
The retained capital will be utilized to expand Walton’s ongoing green energy capabilities, ensure uninterrupted power supply, and finance other modernization, expansion, and renovation (BMRE) activities.
