MCJ Club Limited, a newly established social club for journalism and communication professionals, has officially kicked off its operations following the inaugural meeting of its Board of Directors. Held on Friday evening at a capital restaurant, the meeting marks the formal launch of the registered entity.
The club recently completed its official registration formalities with the Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC).
Chaired by MCJ Club Limited President Hasnain Khurshed and conducted by General Secretary Rakib Hasnet Suman, the meeting addressed foundational administrative and operational strategies.
Key decisions finalized during the session included:
Allocation of executive responsibilities among board directors.
Finalization of general membership policies and special membership numbering.
Formation of key subcommittees to oversee club governance and activities.
General membership will soon be extended to eligible applicants. According to the management committee, alumni from recognized Bangladeshi universities holding degrees in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Broadcast, Television, or related fields are eligible to apply, subject to standard criteria.
Looking ahead, the Board of Directors outlined plans to build strong professional networks connecting members with the corporate sector, alongside hosting social and recreational events for members and their families.
Attendees at the inaugural meeting included directors Elias Khan, Sharmeen Rimvy, Sharmin Akhter, Ahmed Sagor, Muhammad Zahidul Islam Sajal, Mohiuddin Niloy, and Shakil Hasan. The remaining members of the 13-member board—Zahid Newaz Khan Jewel, Sayadul Islam, Nurul Karim Bhuiyan, and Shahed Alam—complete the leadership team.
