Walton wins ‘ESG Excellence Awards 2026’ in 3 categories

Walton has won the ‘ESG Excellence Awards 2026’ in three categories in recognition of its outstanding contributions to ensuring occupational health and safety, taking effective action to combat climate change, and developing innovative and environmentally sustainable products.

The awards, jointly organized by the United Nations Global Compact Network Bangladesh (GCNB) and ESG Institute Bangladesh, recognized Walton in the categories of ‘Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety Improvement,’ ‘Excellence in Championing Climate Action,’ and ‘Excellence in Sustainable Product Innovation.’

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC received the awards at a gala night titled “ESG Excellence Awards-2026’ held at Lakeshore Hotel in the capital on Saturday (September 5).

Attending as the chief guest, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo handed over the ‘ESG Awards’ crest to Walton Hi-Tech’s additional managing director (AMD) Mohammad Yousuf Ali. 

During that time, Walton Hi-Tech’s chief marketing officer Zoheb Ahmed, senior additional executive directors Rabiul Islam Milton and Md Mostafizur Rahman, and head of EHS and sustainability department Mostafizur Rahman Raju was also present.

Ambassadors of several countries, including Denmark and Sweden, along with representatives from the European Union, GCNB and ESG Institute Bangladesh, also attended the event.

Expressing his reaction to the achievement, Walton Hi-Tech’s AMD Mohammad Yousuf Ali said: “The Walton family is delighted to receive the ‘ESG Excellence Awards-2026’ in three categories. These honours recognize Walton’s effective initiatives and continued progress in ensuring a safe workplace, addressing climate change and sustainable products innovation. The recognition will further inspire us to strengthen future investments and initiatives in environmental protection, employee safety and well-being, and sustainable product innovation alongside business growth.”

“To address climate change, we have significantly reduced carbon emissions through the use of renewable energy at our manufacturing facilities and the adoption of green technologies in production processes,” Yousuf Ali said.

“At the same time, Walton has introduced technology-driven safety management systems and regular training programs to enhance employee awareness. These initiatives are helping prevent workplace accidents while ensuring occupational health and a safer working environment,” he added.

Walton also places particular emphasis on energy efficiency, green technologies and environmentally friendly materials in the development and innovation of sustainable products.

The company said its achievements across these areas have earned special recognition in three categories at the ‘ESG Excellence Awards’.

Earlier this year, Walton also won the ‘SDG Brand Champion Awards 2026’ in three categories, including recognition as the year’s most sustainable electronics manufacturing enterprises, for its contributions to climate and environmental protection as well as clean and energy-efficient technologies.
