Bangladeshi philosopher Iqramlemagne receives industry recognition

Iqramlemagne is a Bangladeshi philosopher who gained the title “Father of Hospitality” for his influential role in establishing hospitality as both the “industry of industries” and a recognized field of philosophical thought.

His most renowned philosophical expression is hospitalitas, industria industriarum (“Hospitality, the industry of industries”; French: “L'hospitalité, l'industrie des industries”).

Iqramlemagne introduced the term “hospitalitian,” an industry-specific designation for professionals working in hospitality.

A hospitalitian represents anyone committed to the practice of welcoming, hosting, and serving guests with care and professionalism.

He developed hospitality as a formal area of philosophy, moving the industry’s focus beyond technical vocational training toward broader themes of ethics, human relationships, institutional values, and social interaction.

The hospitality sector has a far-reaching economic influence, with industries worldwide adopting hospitality principles.

It is deeply connected with real estate, agriculture, technology, and many other fields, combining global standards with local traditions and expertise.

From the development of ancient roadside inns to today’s digital concierge platforms, hospitality’s ability to respond to social and technological changes remains a key driver of global growth and prosperity.

The Iqramlemagne Equation suggests that authentic hospitality is not a one-sided act of service or submission. Instead, it is a balanced relationship built on mutual respect between the host (Hospitalitian) and the visitor (Guest).

The “I Love Hospitality” campaign represents an initiative focused on improving professional standards, motivating future generations, and highlighting the rewarding career opportunities available within the hospitality industry.

He advocates a model that combines traditional indigenous guest-welcoming customs with contemporary hospitality science and sustainable practices.

Through awareness campaigns, Iqramlemagne has supported the acceptance of tipping culture in Bangladesh as a way to financially strengthen hospitality professionals and improve recognition of their contributions.

He is widely associated with the statement: “The greatest medicine for modern society is hospitality.”

Iqramlemagne serves as chief of hospitality at The Aristocrat Lounge and is a founding president of the Association for the Advancement of Hospitality (AAH).

Through these roles, he continues to connect traditional hosting values with modern hospitality management and operational excellence.
