Daffodil Group is showcasing Bangladesh's growing capabilities in advanced technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, smart manufacturing, and the emerging semiconductor industry at the Semiconductor Symposium and BEAR Summit 2026, held on Saturday, July 25, at the Bhashani Novotheatre in Agargaon, Dhaka.
Through an integrated technology ecosystem combining education, research, industry, and innovation, the group is demonstrating how collaboration across these sectors can accelerate Bangladesh's transition into a knowledge- and technology-driven economy.
During the summit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the Daffodil Computers pavilion.
He was accompanied by Fakir Mahbub Anam, MP, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Ministry of Science and Technology; Rehan Asif Asad, ICT adviser to the government; and senior government secretaries.
During the visit, the Prime Minister toured Daffodil's technology exhibits, with particular focus on the laptop and ICT hardware manufacturing operations of DCL Hi-Tech.
He observed the company's manufacturing capabilities and highly appreciated the initiative, emphasizing the importance of promoting locally manufactured technology products under the "Made in Bangladesh" brand in global markets.
He also encouraged celebrating and strengthening the country's domestic manufacturing capabilities.
At one stage of the visit, the Prime Minister held a cordial discussion with Prof Md Sabur Khan, chairman of Daffodil Group.
During the discussion, Prof Khan highlighted several innovative projects and technology-driven solutions developed by students of Daffodil International University (DIU), noting that many of these innovations could be implemented to support government development initiatives in a more cost-effective and efficient manner.
The Prime Minister listened with interest and expressed his appreciation for such initiatives.
The accompanying minister and ICT adviser also endorsed the significance of the proposals.
Prof Khan also invited the Prime Minister to visit the Daffodil Hi-Tech Park, stating that the facility is playing an important role in developing Bangladesh's technology ecosystem and producing industry-ready skilled professionals.
The Prime Minister responded positively to the invitation.
During the discussion, Prof Khan further proposed reactivating the ICT Task Force, originally established in 2001 under the late former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, to further accelerate the country's ICT sector development.
The Prime Minister assured that the proposal would receive due consideration.

DCL Hi-Tech is demonstrating its advanced electronics manufacturing capabilities, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, product integration, and quality assurance processes, reflecting Bangladesh's growing capacity in electronics manufacturing.
Daffodil Robotics is showcasing innovative solutions in robotics, automation, embedded systems, and AI-powered technologies, alongside industry-oriented projects developed by students and researchers.
On the academic and research front, Daffodil International University (DIU) is presenting its initiatives in artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, extended reality (XR), capstone projects, startup development, and collaborative research with industry, highlighting its efforts to develop future-ready technology professionals.
As part of its digital transformation initiatives, Daffodil Software is exhibiting AI-powered solutions including AI Professor, Central AI, the Integrated University Management System (IUMS), and 1 Card, demonstrating how artificial intelligence is enhancing education, institutional administration, and organizational efficiency.
Through its participation in BEAR Summit 2026, Daffodil Computers is strengthening opportunities for collaboration with policymakers, universities, research institutions, industry leaders, development partners, investors, and international technology organizations. The participation is also opening new avenues for research collaboration, technology transfer, joint innovation, and industry-academia partnerships.
