The BUFT Cineframe Fest 2026 concluded on July 9 with a closing and awards ceremony held at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT).
The three-day festival, presented by Giant Group and Education Hub and organized by the BUFT Photography Club, featured film screenings and a short film competition.
The closing ceremony marked the end of the program, which was inaugurated on July 7.
Faruque Hassan, chairman of the BUFT board of trustees, attended the closing ceremony as chief guest.
Sharmin Hassan Tithi, director of Giant Group, was also present as special guest.
The event was also graced by Prof Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, vice chancellor (designate) of BUFT.
Distinguished guests from the film industry present on the occasion included actress Runa Khan, Sadia Islam Mou, and actor Mir Sabbir, along with other film directors.
Speeches were also delivered on the occasion by Mohammad Imtiaj, director of the Public Relations Department; and Prof Md Waliul Alam, director of Student Welfare.
The closing ceremony served as the concluding segment of the three-day Cineframe Fest, which featured screenings of several films, including Bonolota Express, Utsab, and The University of Chankharpul.
During the festival, a total of 28 student-produced short films were screened, with the best entries selected by a jury.
The awards were presented to the winning student filmmakers during the ceremony.
