Daffodil Group welcomed a high-level delegation from the British Council to explore opportunities for strengthening collaboration in English language education, communication skills, employability, and global workforce development across the Daffodil education ecosystem.
The British Council delegation was led by Stephen Forbes, country director, British Council Bangladesh, and included Robin Clark, chief revenue officer, British Council (London), Talal Miee, regional business development director, English & Exam, South Asia, British Council and Tahnee Yeasmin, director, business development, English and Exam, British Council, Dhaka, along with other senior officials.
During the meeting, representatives from Daffodil International University (DIU), Daffodil International School (DIS), Daffodil Polytechnic Institute (DPI), Daffodil Institute of Languages (DIL), and Daffodil Foundation shared their respective initiatives and future aspirations for enhancing English language proficiency and global competencies among students.
Both organizations discussed opportunities to work together in areas including:
- English language and communication skills development
- Employability and workplace communication
- Professional and technical English for Polytechnic students
- Teacher professional development
- International best practices in English education
- Student career readiness and global mobility
- English language certification pathways
- Institutional collaboration and knowledge sharing
Special emphasis was placed on supporting students from technical and vocational education backgrounds by strengthening their English communication skills to enhance their competitiveness in local and international job markets.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of developing globally competent graduates equipped with strong communication, critical thinking, and professional skills to meet the evolving demands of employers worldwide.
