Infrastructure Development Company Limited (Idcol) and East West University (EWU) signed an agreement today to collaborate on researching and monitoring solar PV systems across Bangladesh, including solar parks and rooftop installations.
Alamgir Morshed, managing director of Idcol, and Prof Shams Rahman, vice chancellor of EWU, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organizations.
The partnership combines Idcol’s technical monitoring equipment and laboratories with EWU’s academic research capabilities.
Together, the institutions will analyze data to evaluate the reliability and performance of solar energy systems nationwide.
Beyond technical research, the initiative focuses on training.
Idcol and EWU will host joint workshops and training programs for students, researchers, and industry professionals.
This work aims to provide clear data that will help organizations make better investment and operational decisions in Bangladesh's renewable energy sector.
By linking industry infrastructure with academic research, both organizations aim to improve the long-term performance and sustainability of solar energy projects in the country.
