A joint art exhibition titled “Petals of Time: An Exhibition of Art, Memory and Heritage,” featuring the works of four artists, began at Desh Art Gallery on June 26.
Organized by Desh Art Gallery, the exhibition will continue until July 6.
The participating artists are Prashanta Karmakar Buddha, Shilpi Ali, Eliza Rahman and Farin Ahmed.
Their works explore memory, heritage, self-identity, spirituality and various facets of human life.
Through historical architecture, cultural heritage, and spiritual symbols Prashanta Karmakar Buddha creates an aesthetic dialogue between the past and the present.
Shilpi Ali’s creations bring new dimensions to imagination, emotion, dreams, and self-exploration through the use of colours, symbols, and diverse artistic mediums.
The works of Eliza Rahman and Farin Ahmed further enrich the exhibition, expressing personal experiences, cultural consciousness and different aspects of contemporary life through their artistic language.
The central idea of “Petals of Time” is the continuity of memory and heritage through the passage of time.
The artworks establish a creative connection between the past and the present, encouraging viewers to reflect anew on their own memories, identities and cultural inheritance.
Shakhawat Hossain, honorary consul of Portugal, attended the opening ceremony as chief guest. Entrepreneur Sharif Rahman was present as special guest.
