Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, the country's largest and leading paint manufacturer, hosted the award ceremony of the second Berger Award for Interior Design (BAID) on June 25 at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden.
The flagship platform recognizes and celebrates outstanding talent in interior design, honoring the creative minds reimagining interior spaces.
BAID 2025 drew 208 entries across two categories, Professional and Amateur.
Total seven projects were awarded in the event where four projects in professional category- Makeovers by Anmon by Ar. Nazifa Tabassum and Ar. Azrin Alom; Kobita Kunjo by Ar. Jubair Hasan and Ar. Tahmida Afroze; SOL by Ar. Utsha Zaman; and Ajo Idea Space, Gulshan by Ar. Md Rabiul Islam.
In the Amateur category, Bir Chattala by Sangeeta Chowdhury was awarded and two commendation awards were also presented in the Professional category to Jatra Bangladesh by Ar. Sarawat Iqbal and Ar. Monon-Bin Yunus, and Seuil_Bleue by Ar. Rahat Ibna Hasan, Ar. Bin Sayeed Bakhti, and Ar. Raqib Ahmed Sharker.
The event was graced by legendary architect and master of masters, Ar. Professor Shamsul Wares, Rupali Chowdhury, managing director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, and Md Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, chief operating officer and Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, along with other senior officials from Berger Paints Bangladesh.
The evening was also distinguished by Ar. Jalal Ahmed, adviser to BAID 2025; Ar. Md. Ehsan Khan, jury chair, BAID 2025; Ar. Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed, president of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB); and Ar. Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan, chief architect, Department of Architecture.
The jury panel — Ar. Bayejid Mahbub Khondker, Artist Dhali Al Mamoon, Ar. Tanya Karim, and Ar. Mohammed Emran Hossain — graced the occasion as well.

Architect Professor Shamsul Wares, in his address, mentioned: “Over the decades, I have watched this profession grow, struggle, and slowly come into its own. What I witnessed here tonight is a testament to how far our interior design community has travelled. BAID is not merely an award; it is a mirror held up to an entire generation of designers, showing them what is possible when discipline meets imagination.”
