Mohammad Younus, chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC, and Sifat Ahmed Chaudhuri, vice chairman of ABN Formulation and Trading Ltd, have been elected president and secretary general, respectively, of the Bangladesh Professional Golfers' Association (BPGA) for the 2026–2028 term.
The BPGA Executive Committee election was held at Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka Cantonment on 26 June, with the Election Commission announcing the results the following day.
Dr Afsha Anis was elected vice president, Md Musa joint secretary and Mohammad Nurul Kabir treasurer.
The newly elected Executive Committee also includes Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Md Shakhawat Hossain Shohel, Brig Gen GM Quamrul Islam (Retd), Bashir Ahmed, Abul Kalam Azad, Md Dulal Hossain, Sahid, Md Ismail Hossain, Md Sajib Ali and Nadim Hossan as members.
The Election Commission thanked the outgoing Executive Committee (2024–2026), the Election Appeal Committee, candidates, voters and members for their cooperation in ensuring a transparent, peaceful and successful election.
The new committee pledged to promote professional golf in Bangladesh, strengthen the association's activities and work for the welfare of professional golfers during its 2026–2028 tenure.
