Walton Plaza has launched a dedicated healthcare hotline and organized free medical camps across more than 700 outlets nationwide to provide healthcare services to customers and the general public.
The daylong medical camps were held simultaneously at Walton Plaza outlets across the country on Wednesday (June 24).
The program was inaugurated at Walton Plaza's Mirpur Mazar Road outlet in Dhaka by Walton Plaza’s managing partner SM Mahbubul Alam.
During the event, he also launched a special healthcare hotline — 09606-990029 — under the company's "Happiness and Health Care Project."
Walton Plaza customers will be able to receive free medical consultation through the hotline.
As part of the initiative, patients were provided with medical consultations, prescriptions and medicines free of charge.
A blood donation program was also organized in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassaemia Foundation. The collected blood will be used for the treatment of thalassaemia patients.
Speaking at the event, Mahbubul Alam said Walton Plaza regularly introduces customer-focused initiatives, including its instalment buyer protection policy, to ensure greater benefits for consumers.
He said the nationwide medical camps reflect the company's commitment to social responsibility and customer care, adding that people from all walks of life, alongside Walton Plaza customers, were able to avail themselves of the free healthcare services.
Walton Plaza managing director Md Rayhan said the initiative demonstrates that the company is not only engaged in selling products but is also committed to contributing to the socio-economic wellbeing of its customers.
He highlighted Walton Plaza's "Hire Purchase Buyer and Family Protection Policy", under which customers purchasing products on instalments receive a protection card. If a cardholder dies while instalment payments are ongoing, Walton Plaza provides financial assistance ranging from Tk50,000 to Tk300,000, depending on the product value. In the event of the death of a family member, assistance ranging from Tk25,000 to Tk150,000 is provided.
According to the company, more than 1,500 instalment buyers and their families have so far received financial assistance exceeding Tk3 crore under the scheme.
In addition, a substantial amount of outstanding instalment payments has been waived.
Rayhan also said Walton Plaza has signed agreements with diagnostic centres and other service providers to offer special facilities and discounts to protection cardholders. These include benefits at hospitals, diagnostic centres, life insurance providers and restaurants.
The company further said that "Happiness and Health Officers" are assigned throughout the year at Walton Plaza outlets to assist protection cardholders with healthcare-related services.
Special overseas travel opportunities are also available for selected customers under the program.
Among others, Walton Hi-Tech Industries’ deputy managing director Mofizur Rahman, chief marketing officer Zoheb Ahmed, senior executive director Tanvir Anjum, Walton Plaza’s head of HR Md Foysal Wahid, and chief sales executive MM Nazmul Hasan were also present at the event.
In addition, representatives from Walton Plaza outlets across the country joined the program virtually.
