Idcol secures major wins at Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2026

Infrastructure Development Company Limited (Idcol) achieved significant recognition at the prestigious Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2026, held in Singapore on June 17, 2026.

The state-owned financial institution was named "Project Finance House of the Year" by The Asset, a premier Asian financial publication.

The awards celebrate Asia's top banks, investors, and development finance institutions driving sustainable infrastructure and project finance.

At the same ceremony, Idcol was also honored with “Renewable Energy Deal of the Year” for the $67 million syndicated financing of Bangladesh-China Renewable Energy Company (Pvt.) Ltd.’s 64.55 MW grid-tied solar power plant in Pabna.

Idcol structured and led the financing alongside Brac Bank PLC, serving as facility and security agent, with its tranche drawing on blended funding from AIIB, the World Bank, and KfW.

Developed by a joint venture of North-West Power Generation Company Limited and China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation, the plant is now supplying clean electricity to the national grid under a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Bangladesh Power Development Board.

Alamgir Morshed, managing director of Idcol, expressed his sincere gratitude to The Asset for acknowledging Idcol’s contributions.

He thanked all stakeholders for their continued strong support and belief in Idcol, noting that these international awards are a testament to Idcol’s substantial work in financing sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy projects, which have not only spurred economic growth but also enhanced the country’s resilience to environmental challenges.

Both awards were received on behalf of Idcol by Sazzad Hossain, AVP, advisory services, at the ceremony in Singapore.

Idcol continued its momentum in 2025 by leading key syndicated financings, including a $100 million arrangement for RSGT Bangladesh Limited and a $133 million green credit line for textile sector energy efficiency.

These achievements build on the company's stellar performance in 2024, when it swept the Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards for Bangladesh, taking home Project Finance House of the Year, Renewable Energy Deal of the Year, and PPP Deal of the Year.
