The 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh General Insurance Company PLC. (BGIC) was held on June 18 through a virtual platform at the company’s head office.
At the outset of the meeting, a special Dua was offered seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of BGIC’s founder MA Samad, and other deceased shareholders and members associated with the company.
The meeting was presided over by chairman of the company Towhid Samad.
A large number of shareholders, including Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury, managing director & CEO of the company, were present at the meeting.
BGIC, the first non-life insurance company in the private sector of Bangladesh, approved 11% cash dividend on enhanced paid up capital of Tk54.03 crore approximately for the year 2025.
The meeting was attended by vice-chairman Salim Bhuiyan, public director Md Shakil Rizvi, nominated director Mohammad Manjur Mahmud and AKM Mazharul Islam, independent director Nasir Uddin Chowdhury and Priti Chakraborty, along with senior officials of the company.
Saifuddin Ahmed, additional managing director & company secretary, conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
