MW Bangladesh presents ‘Maya Bengal in Motion’

On the occasion of International Dance Day and the 123rd birth anniversary of Poet Jasimuddin, the third edition of Maya Bengal in Motion Presented by MW Bangladesh was jointly organized by MW Magazine Bangladesh and Maya, one of Bangladesh’s leading natural wellness brands under Square Toiletries Limited.

This year’s event was thoughtfully curated as a tribute to Poet Jasimuddin’s legacy.

Nakshi Kanthar Math, regarded as one of his finest works, has been translated into numerous languages worldwide.

In 1959, it was first adapted into a dance drama by Bulbul Lalitakala Academy.

In its third edition, Maya Bengal in Motion Presented by MW Bangladesh brought this timeless literary masterpiece back to the stage through a folk dance drama, retelling the poignant story of love and separation between Rupai and Saju.

From the very beginning, natural wellness brand Maya has remained closely associated with the Bengal in Motion platform, continuing its efforts to contribute meaningfully to the world of art, literature, and culture.

Through this platform, Maya is creating opportunities for local artists to showcase their talent and creativity, while enabling them to gain recognition both locally and internationally.

As part of this ongoing journey, this year’s event was held on Friday, April 17 at Aloki Convention Centre.

The performances featured renowned artists Shamim Ara Nipa, Shibli Mohammad, and Nrityanchal.

The performance was curated by Anisul Islam Hero.

Through a seamless blend of music, dance, and expressive storytelling, they brought to life the simplicity and beauty of rural Bengal in a deeply engaging manner.

The audience remained captivated throughout the evening, experiencing the performance with admiration and emotional connection.

Managing director of Square Toiletries Ltd Anjan Chowdhury, along with other prominent guests, also attended the event.

Welcome speeches were delivered by Rumana Chowdhury, editor and publisher of MW Magazine Bangladesh, and Malik Mohammed Sayeed, CEO of Square Toiletries Limited.

Sayeed reflected on how Maya, one of Bangladesh’s leading natural wellness brands, continues to work towards bringing world-class natural products closer to people across the country.

He also reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to supporting initiatives that celebrate the nation’s art, culture, and heritage, inviting audiences to reconnect with our roots, rhythms, and essence.

The broadcast partner for this year’s event is Maasranga Television, PR partner Mediacom Limited, security partner Aegis Security Forces, and overall event management by Sun Communications Limited, with event decoration by Eskay Events.

The program will be broadcast on Maasranga Television on April 29 on the occasion of International Dance Day.
