A security monitoring center has been launched at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to further strengthen cyber security.
This initiative has been taken as part of the implementation of the cyber security policies and guidelines issued by the National Cyber Security Agency.
The center was established to ensure the security of the automated customs management infrastructure and important and sensitive information assets used in NBR's revenue management and to reduce potential risks. Its activities have already officially started.
On Sunday (January 4), chairman of the NBR Abdur Rahman Khan inaugurated the newly established NBR's own security monitoring center.
A specialized team of NBR is operating this center using modern technology and following international standards.
Through this center, it will be possible to continuously monitor, identify and take preventive measures against possible internal and external cyberattacks, risks, suspicious activities and other cyber threats in the digital activities of Bangladesh Customs.
As a result, the NBR believes that information security in revenue management will be further strengthened.
The NBR said that such initiatives will continue in the future to make the IT-based revenue system secure and sustainable.
