Individuals and organizations shaping the future of the nation’s agriculture sector were felicitated at the Standard Chartered–Channel i Agrow Award 2025, marking its 10th season.
Hosted at the Intercontinental Dhaka on Tuesday, the award honoured 11 winners whose work reflects innovation, resilience, and a deep commitment to advancing climate-smart and sustainable agriculture.
The 2025 awardees demonstrated breakthroughs across research, farming practices, climate adaptation, community development, and emerging areas such as urban gardening.
The winning individuals are Prof Abdul Halim – (lifetime achievement); Anwara Khan Dolly – (farmer of the year – female); Akkas Khan – (farmer of the year – male); Abdus Salam – (heroes for change); Parveen Akter – (resilient talent farmer of the year – female); Abdul Gofur – (resilient talent farmer of the year – male); Hosne Ara – (rooftop gardener of the year); and Reaz Ahmad – (journalist of the year – agriculture).
The winning organizations are Bangladesh Resource Centre for Indigenous Knowledge (Barsic) - (Climate Adaptation-Related Farmer of the Year); The Laboratory of Nano-bio and Advanced Materials Engineering (NAMELAB) – (Best Agricultural Organization in Research, Innovation and Technology); and Krishi Bazar Ltd – (Best Agricultural Organization in Support and Execution).
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur, governor, Bangladesh Bank, graced the function as chief guest.
Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO, Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Shykh Seraj, director and head of news, Channel i spoke on behalf of two host organizations of the Agrow-Award.
A host of policy planners, agricultural scientists, professionals, businessmen, researchers, and development partners also attended.
This season welcomed 11 new champions to the Agrow Award family, bringing the total number of honourees to 88 — each representing a unique contribution to Bangladesh’s agricultural progress.

Actress Tropa Majumdar emceed the event, while dancing troupe Jaltaranga, musical artists Pintu Ghosh and Fazlur Rahman Babu and co artists displayed enthralling musical and dance performances.
Launched in 2014, the Standard Chartered–Channel i Agrow Award has become the country’s most respected platform for celebrating agricultural excellence.
