NCC Bank organized a day-long conference for BAMLCOs’ on “Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism” on Saturday at head office.
Mohammad Anisur Rahman, director of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) inaugurated the conference as chief guest.
M Shamsul Arefin, managing director of NCC Bank, presided over the ceremony while Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan, deputy managing director and CAMLCO delivered his welcome speech.
Besides, Md Mosharraf Hossain and Md Hafizur Rahman Khan, joint directors of BFIU, Md Mahbub Alam, Md Zakir Anam, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, deputy managing directors, Mohammed Anisur Rahman, SEVP and CIO, Md Baker Hossain, SVP and deputy CAMLCO, divisional heads of head office, regional heads, managers of corporate branches, along with others senior executives and officials of CCU of NCC Bank were also present on the occasion.
A total of 128 people participated in the conference.
Mohammad Anisur Rahman, director of BFIU highlighted the importance of the Prevention of Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism in the banking sector and instructed the participants to play a proper role in the implementation of the Anti-Money Laundering Act and Anti-Terrorism Act in the banking sector by utilizing their knowledge gained in the conference.
M Shamsul Arefin, managing director of NCC Bank, instructed the BAMLCO to learn all tactical issues properly to prevent the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and uphold the image of the bank.
He also emphasized the role and responsibilities of officials to prevent Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
Rafat Ullah Khan, deputy managing director and CAMLCO of NCC Bank, advised concerned officials to become more careful before opening a bank account and receiving remittances by keeping proper customer information to secure the transaction.
