Smart Technologies (BD) Limited (Sony-Smart), the official distributor of Sony in Bangladesh, unveiled its new range of Google TVs on the occasion of World Television Day.
The launch event took place on Thursday at the Sony-Smart showroom in Shyamoli, Dhaka.
To mark the occasion, the company celebrated by cutting a saffron cake, coinciding with the globally recognized Television Day on November 21.
Md Tanvir Hossain, director of Smart Technologies (BD) Limited, officially launched the new Google TV.
The event was graced by the presence of Nurul Ain Omar, head of overseas business at Smart Technologies (BD) Limited; Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, general manager and head of sales of Sony-Smart; and Azad Rahman, deputy general manager and head of marketing.
Tanvir Hossain, director of Smart Technologies (BD) Limited stated: "Television once held a significant place in meeting our daily entertainment needs. However, with the advent of advanced technology and the growing use of smartphones, its popularity experienced a decline. Recently, though, the integration of cutting-edge technology has enabled television to regain its lost glory. The Google operating system has been instrumental in modernizing traditional televisions, thereby enhancing their appeal and acceptance among users."

At the event, the company announced exciting offers and attractive prices to mark the launch of the new Smart-Google TVs.
Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, general manager and head of sales of Sony-Smart, said: "Our customers will receive a guaranteed gift with every Smart-Google TV purchase—a Smart Power Bank. Additionally, each TV comes with a special launch price. Customers can also avail of an exclusive offer to purchase four different configurations of 16.6-inch Smart Flare laptops on a six-month interest-free EMI plan. For instance, customers can get a Core i3 laptop for just Tk7,500."
He further added that under the new offer, the 43-inch Google-Smart TV, originally priced at Tk56,900, is now available for Tk39,900.
Similarly, the 50-inch model, priced at Tk68,900, is now Tk49,900; the 55-inch model, priced at Tk81,900, is now Tk59,900; and the 65-inch model, priced at Tk106,900, is now Tk79,900. The 75-inch model, previously Tk175,900, is now offered at Tk129,900; the 85-inch model, priced at Tk251,900, is now Tk159,900; and the premium 100-inch model, originally priced at Tk629,900, is now available for Tk449,900.
He also noted that these prices are valid only during the promotional period.
