IPDC Finance Limited has announced the appointment of Ariful Islam as the chairman of the board of directors.
The decision was made at the 213th meeting of the board of directors.
Islam is a seasoned professional with over 26 years of experience as a business leader and top executive across various organizations.
He has been an integral part of IPDC Finance Limited, serving as a member of the board audit committee and nominated director by the Ayesha Abed Foundation.
Islam currently holds the position of chief financial officer (CFO) at Brac University since December 2020.
In this capacity, he demonstrated exceptional leadership overseeing finance, IT, procurement, international & scholarship functions.
Prior to joining Brac University, Islam held various director/senior executive roles with British American Tobacco (BAT) Group across various markets in Asia Pacific and led sustainable growth, development of new strategic direction & business transformation in priority markets like Japan, Korea & Taiwan.
Islam holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Scottish Church College, Calcutta University, India, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University.
He also obtained Advance Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
Islam also served as an independent director & chairman of the board audit committee of Toshrifa Industries limited from October 2020 to October 2023.
