Bangladesh Matchbox Collectors Club (BMCC) organized World Matchbox and Label Exhibition for the first time in history.
Last September 22-24, this exhibition was held for three days at Banglamator's Biswa Sahitya Kendra in the capital.
BMCC started its journey in 2016 which today has established itself as one of the best international deslai collectors in the world.
BMCC is constantly working to spread the wonderful hobby of deslai collecting across the globe with hard working and deslai loving collectors, especially attracting new generations to the history of deslai and the hobby of deslai collecting.
BMCC president Sakil Haque said that BMCC often organizes national and international exhibitions.
"We have organized international exhibitions before but they were all virtual. This is the first time in the history of the world that we have organized an international deslai exhibition where both the collectors and the deslai are present in person."
On September 22 pm, the curtain rose through a grand opening ceremony of this historic event, president of Australian Match Cover Collectors Society (AMCCS), internationally renowned matchbox collector David Figg was present as the chief guest, and special guest was Treasurer Chris Haim.
After the inauguration, the exhibition was opened to the public.
A large number of visitors visit this exhibition on all 3 days.
Secretary General of BMCC Russel Rahman Shimul said: "Top private bank Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC has been assisting us in various ways for a long time. If other public and private institutions like Shahjalal Islami Bank also come forward, then we will be able to organize such international exhibitions on a larger scale in the coming days."
The event also included a seminar on the history of deslai and proper collection of deslai conducted by world famous deslai collector David Figg.
This seminar was mainly organized to provide guidance to new collectors.
A question-and-answer session was held at the end of the seminar where participants had the opportunity to directly ask David Figg questions about Deslai.
