JCI Dhaka Sparks, Canadian Maple International School address learning disabilities

JCI Dhaka Sparks, jointly with Canadian Maple International School (CMIS), on Thursday implemented the second of “Beautiful Minds” project through a follow-up session on "Demystifying Learning Disabilities" at CMIS' permanent campus at Satarkul in the capital. 

One of the flagship projects of JCI Dhaka Sparks, it is a continuation from last year focused on training teachers, educators and parents to correctly understand learning disabilities in its many forms and take practical measures and interventions to deal with learning disabilities that includes counselling, syllabus modification, allowing oral examination, using overlays to improve reading.

This year the project looked to improve and stock take the initial suggestions for improved leaning outcomes.

This year, experts included guest consultant and psychologist Marzana Chowdhury.

Twenty five teachers from CMIS participated in the project, who shared their experience and opinions regarding practicing different strategies to deal with learning disabilities.

COC of this project Sumaya Mahmud Sharna, Co-COC Ashabus Safa, along with project members from JCI Dhaka Sparks were present.

From CMIS, Principal Humaira Salmin, Vice Principal Amreen Hossain and Academic Head Farah Rezwan participated in the discussions and ongoing endeavor for a more inclusive education approach to effectively manage learning disabilities.
