Like every year, Universal Medical College Hospital, on Sunday, held a special ceremony called 'Garabini Ma-2023' in honour of proud mothers on World Mother's Day.
Planning Minister MA Mannan was present as the event's chief guest at the Rawa Convention Center at the capital's Mohakhali DOHS, reads a press release.
Preeti Chakraborty, chairman of Universal Medical College Hospital and FBCCI director, presided over the event and Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, managing director of the hospital and chief organizer of the maternity ward, delivered the welcome speech.

On behalf of the FBCCI president, Industries Ministry Secretary Zakia Sultana was present as a special guest and Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries vice-president Md Amin Helali was present as a guest of honour.
This time, the mothers of ten established citizens in society were honoured for their contributions to the upbringing of talented individuals.
They are Firoza Begum, mother of Jashore Senior District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam, Prime Minister's Office director general-2 Md Shahidul Islam's mother Rabeya Khatun, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's additional police commissioner (traffic) DIG Md Munibur Rahman's mother Shaheda Rahman, renowned kidney transplant surgeon and urologist professor Md Kamrul Islam's mother of Professor Rahima Khatun, Dhaka University Computer Science and Engineering Department professor and director of ICT Cell Mohammad Asif Hossain Khan's mother Roshan Ara Begum, the daily Kalbela editor Santosh Sharma's mother Chanchala Rani Sharma, National Film Award winning actress Nusrat Imroz Tisha's mother Shaheen Mahfuza Haque, Actors and Performers Association general secretary MM Kamrul Hasan Rawonak's mother Shamsunnahar Majumder, Selina Haque, mother of National Film Award-winning singer and music director Mohammad Mahmudul Haque Imran, and Meena Chauhan, mother of Chandrasekhar Chauhan, a lecturer in the Department of Medicine of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh.
All mothers are awarded metal crests, medals, free master health check-up package, wooden picture and gift items at the Garobini Ma-2023 award ceremony. The event partner was Factor Three Solutions.
