A culinary destination for authentic Japanese-fusion flavours

Izakaya's second restaurant in Uttara transports you into a breath-taking space for diverse Japanese flavours. Situated above the ISHO Experience Center, the spacious diner catches your eye with its attention to detail and the elegance of its interiors.

Established in 2018 with the goal of bringing a well-curated menu of Japanese-fusion flavours to Dhaka for the first time, Izakaya is a franchise that has grown in popularity among culinary enthusiasts and people whose tastes and preferences have substantially changed in recent years.

"Izakaya", a Japanese word, refers to a small pub or an eatery where one can enjoy inexpensive delicacies. However, few eateries in Dhaka offer a taste of Japanese-fusion flavours. With an intent to launch an eatery where people can enjoy a casual dining experience, Izakaya continues to gain widespread popularity among Dhaka's urbanites.

The flavours of Japan with a contemporary twist

Izakaya preserves the integrity of each ingredient and avoids using overpowering spices, much like traditional Japanese cuisine. Visual presentation is crucial, and plating the food to highlight its beauty is just as crucial as the cooking process.

Within the first year of its inception, it acquired recognition for its distinctive cuisine, which includes a variety of appetizers, sushi and maki, rice bowls, various platters, bento boxes, desserts, and refreshing mocktails. It continues to satisfy customers of all ages.

Izakaya also debuted their DIY Sushi Kit for individuals wishing to indulge in culinary creativity with their own homemade sushi rolls with the start of the pandemic in 2020. The package comes with all the ingredients needed to make a California maki and a tuna nigiri, as well as chopsticks, a rolling mat, and a booklet with simple directions.

The Wagyu Steak, Snow Fish Misoyaki, Nama Scallop Hollandaise, Beef Enoki Roll, and the imported Beef Katsu Sando from Australia are among its most popular new additions. The soft-baked Japanese Cheesecake, which is popular for its distinctive desserts, and another recent addition, the Matcha Sandwich with white chocolate and whipped cream, are both winning fans' hearts. The Mango Calpis, Earl Grey, and Purple Lady are summertime favourites among their menu's assortment of cool mocktails.

Izakaya, besides curating delightful dishes, has also put immense thought into its interiors. The newly-launched Uttara outlet has a vast space that measures up to 3000 sq. ft. and can seat almost 85 people. The interiors consist of soft, natural hues which generate a relaxing backdrop. Floral clusters shadowing the tables from above instantly give the relaxing vibe of dining under a freshly bloomed Japanese Cherry Blossom tree.

Creating Iftar memories with boxes of happiness

As people are now exploring more options for Iftar during Ramadan, the idea of including oriental cuisines in the menu is becoming more appealing to them. Since its inception, Izakaya has introduced Bento boxes that are packed with memorable flavors and healthy ingredients. These Bento boxes can bring a delightful change and prove to become a healthier choice for Iftar, compared to regular, oil-laden snacks. This Ramadan, customers can choose from 3 Bento sets accompanied by dates and a bottle of water. Available for order, dine-in or take-away, each box is priced at BDT 1425++.

A hub for good food

Food from different cultures and countries have transformed and evolved to adapt to the tastes of modern consumers. In this era of globalization, people have gained enriched tastes which have also led to the fusion of different cuisines.
