MPA chairman appointed new VC of BSMRMU

Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, the current chairman of Mongla Port Authority has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University. 

He will replace the current Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral (retd) M Khaled Iqbal, said a press release.

Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa joined the Bangladesh Naval Academy on January 26, 1985.

Served with great skill and success as captain of 6 warships of the Navy including Patrol Craft Offshore, Patrol Vessel and state-of-the-art warship BNS Bangabandhu, the latter was the first warship of Bangladesh Navy to receive the National Standard or National Flag from the Prime Minister under her command in 2013.

He successfully served as director of four Directorates including Plans, Submarines, Naval Aviation and Signals at Naval Headquarters.

He has very successfully served as the captain of BNS Isa Khan, the largest naval base of the Navy located in Chittagong.

He received the National Flag from the President while serving in the Khulna Regional Naval Command.

He completed Missile Training from China, Naval Staff Course from France, a Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS) from the United Kingdom, and Executive Decision Making Course in California, USA. 

He also served as UN Observer in Ivory Coast, Africa and received Force Commander's Commendation.
